DR KAMALA DE SILVA
Dr K De Silva is a Medical Educator providing supervision and teaching for doctors in the RACGP Fellowship training. Her particular interests are Women’s and Childrens health, Chronic disease management and preventative health.
Qualifications: My qualifications are Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery- 1986, Full Registration in AMC in 1997; Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology- 2000; Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners- 2001.
She speaks fluent English, Sinhala and Bulgarian.
DR PADMA HERATH
Dr Padma has graduated from the University of Colombo , Sri Lanka in 1985, and gained Australian experience in Accident & Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Geriatrics, Psychiatry and Genecology and Obstetrics before becoming a General Practitioner. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but is particularly interested in Dermatology and Obstetrics and Genecology. She has received the certificate of Gynecology and completed a 1 year course in dermatology, receiving the ‘AID certificate’ for her efforts. She is able to do minor procedures such as the removal of simple cysts, ingrown toe-nail surgery, steroid injections for Alopecia, Implanon, Mirena, IUD removals and skin tag removals also Iron Infusions.
Dr Padma has a passion for teaching, having conducted General Practitioner training for 12 years and running, as well as supporting medical student work experience placements
She speaks fluent English and Sinhala.
DR BAVANI KIRUBAHARAN
I graduated from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1991 and worked at The National Hospital of Sri Lanka for 5 years.
I migrated to Australia in 1997 and worked at Eastern Health hospitals for over 4 years before completing my fellowship (FRACGP) in 2008.
Having worked in General Practice for over 16 years, I enjoy all aspects of General Practice and have a special interest in Women’s health and Children’s health.
I am also fluent in Tamil and Singhalese.

I migrated to Australia and since working at Pound Road Medical Centre.

DR DISHANI C RANASINGHE
Special Interests: WOMEN’S HEALTH, DERMATOLOGY, MENTAL HEALTH
Graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1996 and worked in Tertiary Hospitals in Colombo for over 13 years and also as a part-time General Practitioner for more than 10 years in Sri Lanka.
I migrated to Australia in 2011 and since then been working as a General Practitioner in Rural Victoria as well with wide exposure.
I am quite passionate about General Practice and especially interested in Pediatrics, Mental Health, Dermatology and Women’s Health including Family Planning (Implanon Insertion). I am also, experienced in minor skin procedures.
Fluent in English and Sinhalese.
DR DHARSHEIYA SURENDRAN
Dr. Dharsheiya has more than 10 years of experience since graduated in 2006 from Univerisity of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Since 2014, she has worked in Northern Melbourne (Craigieburn) and Regional Victoria (Wallan) as a general practitioner.
She is a very passionate general practitioner focused on high quality health care, particularly to vulnerable groups in the community. She has variety of work experiences including rural Australians, migrants and refugees.
Dr. Dharshy is highly regarded by the local communities for her thorough care for her patients.
Special interests: Paediatrics, Women’s health and Family planning (Including Implanon insertion), Venerology, Dermatology and Minor skin procedures,general medicine as well as Travel health.

DR. HASAN KHWAJA
I graduated and obtained my MBBS from Dhaka Medical College, University of Dhaka in 1989. I came to Australia in 1992 and finished my AMC exam in 1994. I then worked at different hospitals throughout Melbourne, including RMH, Monash, Frankston, Kingston and Sandringham Hospital. During my time in hospital I had the opportunity to work in Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics, ICU, ENT, Eye, Geriatrics, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry and Urology. I joined General Practice in 1998 and since then had the opportunity to work at different clinics in Melbourne’s south east. I also have experience working as the Principal GP supervisor for GP registrars. In addition, I have been working as a skin cancer physician at Australian Skin Cancer Clinic in Hallam for the last 10 years.
I obtained my FRACGP in 2003, Diploma in Practical Dermatology (DPD) from Cardiff University in 2006 and Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery from Skin Cancer College of Australasia in 2013.
I have special interests in dermatological conditions and skin cancer diagnosis and surgery. I perform skin surgeries such as elliptical excisions, flaps and grafts, lump and cyst excisions, toe nail surgery etc. I am also interested in chronic disease management and workcover. I also enjoy medical education and training.
I can speak English, Bengali and Hindi/Urdu.
DR T ANOJA DE SILVA
Special Interests: CHILDREN’S HEALTH, ALLERGY, WOMEN’S HEALTH, DIABETES, CHRONIC DISEASE AND PREVENTIVE HEALTH MANAGEMENT
Anoja graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1982 and worked in Teaching Hospitals – National Hospital, De Soysa Maternity Hospital, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children and Sri Jayawardenepura Teaching Hospital, Colombo and as a part-time General Practitioner in Sri Lanka.
She did three years postgraduate training in Sri Lanka at Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Paediatrics. She obtained her postgraduate degree in MD Paediatrics and had further 3 years postgraduate training in the UK in general paediatrics and newborn. She worked in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for 11/2 years. She was also trained in the management of children’s heart disease and echo cardiography (heart scans).
Anoja has worked for 5 years as a Specialist in Paediatrics at the Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila and as well as a Senior Lecturer of the Medical Faculty, Sri Jayewardenepura University.
She has worked as an Associate Specialist From 2005-2014 at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in the UK. She was trained in the management of allergic conditions and obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy from the Imperial College, London, where she was awarded the David McKay Prize for the best overall performance.
Anoja migrated to Australia and has worked at the Pound Road Medical Centre since 2016 as a General Practitioner and was obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
She is a compassionate and committed General Practitioner who enjoys the variety in general practice.
She is fluent in both English and Sinhalese.
She is commonly known as Anoja although her first name is Tosseynde, which is inherited.
Dr NAHEED MUZAFFAR
I completed my MBBS from Dhaka University in 1993. I arrived in Australia in 1996 and after completing my AMC examination worked in Monash health for 4 years. During the 4 years of hospital training, I worked in Emergency department, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, Vascular surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I entered General practice in 2005 and completed my fellowship ( FRACGP) in 2008. Since then I have fully committed myself to general Practice and I thoroughly enjoy the variety and challenges it presents. I obtained Diploma in Chid Health (DCH) in 2018.
I have interest in Chronic disease management including Type II diabetes, Hypertension and its complications, Asthma etc. I have special interest in Women’s and Children’s health and preventive health.
Dr SHARANIYA NAVARATNAM
Qualifications: MBBS, FRACGP
Special Interests: Skin and Aesthetics, Paediatrics, Family Planning (including Implanon insertion), Minor Procedures & all General Medicine.
Dr Sharan, as she is known by her patients, is a friendly and empathetic GP who enjoys interacting with and improving the wellbeing of her patients.
Dr. Sharan graduated in 2010 and worked in Goulburn Valley Health and Eastern Health in Victoria before completing General Practice training with EVGPT. Her time in hospitals included experience in general medicine, emergency, surgery, paediatrics, oncology and 2 years in mental health.
She has a keen interest in Skin and Aesthetics, Paediatrics, Women’s Health, Family Planning and Lifestyle medicine. She also performs minor procedures.
Dr Sharan grew up in Melbourne and enjoys spending her free time with her 3 young children.
She speaks fluent Tamil.
DR SHABANA DURRANI
Dr Shabana is currently on Maternity Leave until the end of 2024.
Dr Shabana graduated in 2014 having secured first position at the time of graduation, she has been honoured with a Gold Medal & nine Silver Medals for obtaining the highest aggregate marks and graduating with maximum number of distinctions.
Dr Shabana has been working in General Practice since 2020 and prior to that she has worked at the Emergency Department of St.Vincent's hospital Fitzroy Melbourne as well as the Emergency Department of South West Healthcare Warrnambool. She has also worked as a Locum Doctor in rural and regional Victoria.
She is interested in all areas of General Practice with special interest in Women's and Children's health, Mental Health ,Skin cancer, Dermatological conditions and Cosmetic medicine.
She can speak multiple languages inclusive of English ,Urdu, Hindi, Dari, Persian/ Farsi and Pashto.
Outside work, She enjoys spending time with my family and friends, cooking, exercising, walking by the sea, playing music and dancing.
